Stunning Vintage String Quilt


Quilt from the collection of Eleanor Bingham Miller, made around 1890 probably in Pennsylvania, exhibited at the Speed Museum in Louisville, Kentucky. I really like this quilt. The only thing that bugs me is the harsh dark red stripe in the middle.

It's hard to believe this is an antique. It looks like a very modern quilt.

Oh if I wasn't in the middle of quilting a wedding quilt that needs to get done, I would haul out the string box and start in on this!! Amazing.

Yes the quilt is very intriguing to look at. I know what you mean by that stripe. It is difficult not to look at it, while you would rather look at the rest of the quilt, not at that big stripe. Defenitely a quilt to remember, lots of inspiration.
