First Quilt

This is T's first quilt. Isn't it pretty? I teach quilting to brand new quilters on Friday afternoons. We hand-piece the tops, then I take them home for machine quilting. T gave this to her Mom for a birthday gift. The label was a very sweet message and her Mom loved it.

I bring a huge assortment of 6" squares to our meetings and each quilter chooses and arranges her own design.

How fun! I have quite the respect for all who do hand stitching. What a wonderful treat for those newbies to learn quilting from you!

That's what I tell them: Now you're a quilter! And that's good company.

Very neat! And hand pieced too! I'm the opposite - I machine piece and hand quilt.

That's a great feeling of accomplishment for T and the appreciation of a beautiful, thoughtful gift for her Mom!

And plenty of satisfaction for the teacher too.....
